milhouse and fat qbert

man...i tried looking for a picture of us at cal but i guess we never took any. haha. i have to say tho phatty that u were a big part of my djing career...from music influence to youth outreach to drunken djing to successfully teaching the art of djing to many many many cal students. those were some good times. remember when i would call u milhouse and u would call me fat qbert and we would get hella annoyed of each other? hahaha. remember when i brought nasty ass alcohol to our djing 101 final and no one wanted to drink it? hahaha. and of course i cant forget the both of us getting hammered and playing that congo drum in front of blakes while freestyling with the homeless folks. haha. but yeah mayn....thanks for always hookin it up with gigs at cal...i never got the chance to thank you. you helped me so much in introducing me to a lot of key people over there but you really couldnt help it tho cause you were just so popular and i was like your fat sidekick. oh yeah....and you introduced me to one of my favorite japanese late night restaurants/bars: namu bar. ive eaten and gotten drunk there several times since the last time i saw you there. so with all this said mr. dj mutha fuckin phatrick......thanks for being a close homie and may u conquer LA like u did the bay. holla at me sometime.

-remember when we were driving back from a gig and mike wanted me to drive into ur driveway hella fast and we ended up rear ending your neighbor's parked car (sorry to the neighbor if they read this)?

//Keep it movin..

Phat-

I got mad love for you. Always humble, always upbeat. Got integrity in music and in the heart. I'm glad we got to collaborate... you know that the night we had you guys as guests at Good Life (Wednesdays at Luka's 2004-2006) that was the night I met Z in person? And of course, I'll never forget the Sade Tribute at Devil's Pie. Gotta say, you made a dollar out of 15 cents with that night, I'm honored to be a part of it in documented form. Just goes to show that a little love and soul goes a long way. Much respect, hold it down in LaLaLand. Don't sweat it, change is the only constant. The right path always finds you. Keep in touch. Peace.

that self-hatred.

man, phatty. if i could get a yuan for every time you started a sentence off with "maybe it's just self hatred, but asians..."

i think many of us think back to the time when we were living in texas, flipping through manga comics at the tapioca cafe with our dyed bangs and extra baggy nautica jeans, and die a little inside.

but phatty, know that even if you hate asians, asians love you. who else is more fit to handle the awkward situation of trying to teach a hip-hop workshop to a group of oakland chinatown kids who only listen to anime soundtracks?

well, i know you're moving to LA because you thought that there are hardly any asians out there, but i have news for you: there are a few. but if it's any consolation, there are still other places in this world that have more (i.e. asia).

IF YOU WERE A PROSTITUTE, I BET YOU WOULD TURN A PHAT TRICK

Hugs,

Junichi

P.S. Please come visit me in the O.C. We can have a slumber party. I promise to bring you milk and warm cookies.

Snowboarding Buddy!

Phatty, we will always have Tahoe! Don't worry, the pictures are hidden in a ditch somewhere in Tahiti.

Good luck in LA! Hopefully we'll see you more often. We're only 4 hours away.

Tahoe Part Deux?

Love you!

phattyphat...my friend....

moving from la to the bay, i was nervous. being a new dj in the city, i thought i would get eaten up alive from all the stories i've heard of the sf dj scene. then i meet phatrick. he was/is the nicest, most humble guy i've met here in the bay. he made me feel so welcome and helped me out so much. i owe him my life...or at least a rare lonnie jordan record! :) he is one of the few dj's i know who still flip shit and break new music. he takes the time to educate the masses, and does it all with style and grace.
so sad to see him go...but i know he'll conquer LA.
patrick, i wish you the best fam...please let me know if i can help in any way. mad love for you homie!!
